Windows 7 end of updates

If you don't know, Windows 7 is now a 10 + year old operating system and will stop receiving updates after 14 th January 2020.

Enterprise users can pay and get security updates till 2023. We can't blame Microsoft. They provided free support this long. We can't blame users too. Why should they get rid of an operating system which works fine ?

Even Linux is not supporting their OS thing long. A lot of people do not want to upgrade from Windows 7, just like XP. Now they will be forced to do so.

As for updates, use a good antivirus and you will be more or less safe.

That is what we used to do with XP. A good antivirus offers much better support to the OS security patches than Windows itself.

Hmm is that so? Ok major version gets a support for 2 to 5 years that's why you say that they don't support it for long?

Windows XP too got at least 10 years support. Free updates. But the software was paid.

It helps a lot in the long run. You have a PC where everything works fine. And then they will tell you to update it for absolutely no solid reason to you.
