When a CMS blogs

Do you think it becomes authoritative when a CMS blogs about a topic. ie, When WordPress or Joomla talks about how to create a blog which will load faster, or how to use AMP to make your website fare well on SEO ?

I personally think CMS should do more than their product blog. They should talk about things that affect their customer. Imagine WordPress share its vision about how a gaming blog should be listing some plugins that might add certain features to it.

Why are CMS blog just plain product blog posts ? Can't they talk more ?

They like to keep neutral, take less responsibility and stay away from controversy. But if they plan to do, they have to invest in a team that will have to work on the applications of CMS, do case study and so on.

Vanilla forums does that. They give webinars, ebooks and blog posts from time to time. To be honest, I find them very helpful.

I have read them too. PrestaShop's blogs are interesting too. IPB does some blogs, but mostly fun stuff.
