The important rule remains the same. Don't put important text inside an image.

Google recommends Q&A Structured data for forums, Q&A websites, help and support message boards. Once you do that, you will be able to highlight the best answer or answers with top votes on Google snippets. It works well when people use devices like Google Home which reads the answer to the users.

If you have not made use of it, it is time to test your site with Google's URL inspection tools

About the URL Inspection tool

The URL Inspection tool provides information about Google's indexed version of a specific page. Information includes AMP errors, structured data errors, and indexing issues.
You can also test the live URL in real time to detect possible indexing errors on the page.

Two more important updates.

1. Make sure that your website works with old browses as well as new browsers

2. Avoid website elements that cannot be crawled by the Google bot

I assume that they recommend use of robots.txt for blocking bots instead of using component not supported by Google bot. This was in response to a question about update of Google bot to understand advanced components. Google teams wants you to be conservative while selecting elements for your website if you care for search

According to new reports, a slow server can cost you dearly with Google. It can cause crawl errors and bots might skip crawling if the site is too slow to respond. The solution, if such errors occurs on the console is to move to a better server.

Google says you can use 404 for removing pages from Google index. If the crawler gets 404, it will gradually remove the page from its system. This will be useful in cases where your site got hacked and one or URL got into bad reputation due to hacked contents.
