SEO and Javascript

Crawling HTML website is standard. In short there is nothing much you need to do to make it is easy for the crawler. But when Javascript comes to play and since a no. of frameworks are available, there is a good chance that the crawler won't be able to crawl it. One solution is to pre-render the content on server side and output as HTML. There are also suggestions about dynamic rendering. But giving one content for the bot and another for user might get you penalized. But you need to do something about your JS files as well. That is a thin line you need to walk with optimizing the pages for SEO and not get punished for it.

Pre-rendering is recommended by Bing. They were recently vocal about effect of JS on crawling. I am not whether Google has any similar guidelines.

You need not worry about the JavaScript SEO of a website if you can view page source and see all the critical content. The main worry is not when you use JavaScript. It is when you use JavaScript to display critical content.

I am happy that we comply with these conditions. Even though there is JavaScript in use, all the critical content are visible without JS rendering.

It will be only a concern if you use a JS shell to display content. Even that is not a problem as Google can at a later point render and index the content.
