Google's Season of Docs is like Google Summer of Code for open source projects. Technical writers can contribute to open source project documentation. If you are a technical writer, you can work for 3 months with a mentor with an open source project to prepare documentation for that project.

You can apply during April 2019 and receive a stipend of $ 2,4000 - $ 6,000

Good for technical writing people. The stipend is awesome too. Just like a scholarship to higher education programme.
